With dancing lessons concluded for summer holidays, pupils from the Mc Cartin SD enjoyed two outings recently. The younger pupils experienced a fun filled day at Funtasia Water Park in Drogheda where swimming, bowling and an activity-centre entertained the dancers. The senior pupils had a unique intimate experience with a trip to the Gaiety Theatre in Dublin to see the outstanding show Riverdance. Like true VIP’s the pupils were brought back stage to meet the cast, pose for photographs and had a question and answer session with the cast members. Here is what some of the pupils had to say about their experience of meeting their the stars of the show:
“The talent of those in Riverdance is indescribable…the synchronicity, the rhythm and the skill of all the dancers is just amazing, how they perform on stage, act, sing and dance is just incredible. The musicians and singers were also amazing; they completed the show, helping to soundtrack the story throughout the performance. It’s unbelievable how well the show is put together and how even after seeing the show a few times, it is still as mesmerizing as the very first time, the sheer brilliance of all the performers and the dedication of those involved, that is needed to pull off such a entertaining and challenging show is fantastic. Meeting the dancers….well I can safely say we were star struck! It was really an amazing experience and I’m so grateful to them for coming down to meet us. All in all an amazing night and one that will never be forgotten”. Barry Taylor
“There are no words that could describe how utterly breathtaking the entire production was. We witnessed Irish Dancing at its very best, better than ever imaginable. Seeing such perfection motivated me to strive to be even nearly as good as the cast of this fantastic show. Getting to speak to the cast was a once in a lifetime experience and listening to them describe the hard work and preparation that went into the show made it all the more breathtaking. Riverdance truly left me in awe”. Paula Mc Partland.
“An absolute brilliant experience, one in a lifetime!
To meet the cast was just amazing I think we were all speechless that these amazing role models were stood right in front of us allowing us to ask questions and get pictures with them. The show itself was just out of this world truly inspirational. I think it’s safe to say I’ve never seen such talent and such dedication and hard work, however seeing the results has given me the motivation to work harder at my own dancing”. Blaithin Donohoe
“The opportunity of going to see Riverdance was and a fantastic experience. Meeting the cast was something I will never forget the whole group was in complete awe; having the opportunity to meet these sensational dancers allowed us the opportunity to ask questions about what it’s like to be involved in such an amazing production? The show was truly astonishing. The reaction that was given after the performance was well deserved! Seeing Riverdance has shown me what hard work and motivation can achieve and someday I might achieve what the dancers in this wonderful troupe have”. Sinead Mc Govern
Many thanks to the parents for assisting with the supervision on the trips!!
